New codeshare agreement between SriLankan Airlines, airberlin and its subsidiary, NIKI, was announced, in order to increase tourism between Sri Lanka, Germany and Austria. The three airlines offer codeshare flights daily between Berlin, Vienna and Sri Lanka, through daily flights operated by SriLankan between Abu Dhabi and Colombo.

Airberlin and NIKI placed their codes on daily flights SriLankan between Abu Dhabi and Colombo, while SriLankan passengers can now travel on airberlin and NIKI flights to Berlin – Tegel and Vienna via Abu Dhabi. The SriLankan Airlines has also placed its code on Etihad Airways flights from Munich. With this new codeshare agreement with airberlin and NIKI, the company adds a third destination in Germany, Berlin and Vienna, in its global network.
