SriLankan Airlines was honored with the highest distinction travel experience for the Asia Pacific (Superior Achievement in Passenger Experience – Asia Pacific) for 2015, at an event held in Oregon in the United States of America. This global prize awarded in SriLankan Airlines, recognizes significant improvements regarding the travel experience for passengers, both during flight and in the provision of terrestrial services of the airline.

Mr. Rachita Jayawardena, CEO of SriLankan Airlines, when asked what it was that distinguished the SriLankan Airlines from competition, mentioned one single factor, the advantage of culture and the welcoming nature of the people of Sri Lanka, to bring value to airline and provides the personal touches those that tend to disappear from the aviation sector.

As a result of all these efforts, vital performance indicators (KPI’s) improved significantly for the company as the overall compliments the company has received (increase of over 150%), the evaluation of cabin crew for the friendliness and courteousness (89 %), the evaluation of cabin crew for continual satisfaction (90%) and others.

In August, SriLankan ranked 16th among 50 international airlines that are evaluated by the global flight data service (FlightStats), for the punctuality for both arrivals and departures of flights, which from 66% increased to 80%.
