On Thursday, October 9, 2014, at the Mediterranean Palace Hotel in Thessaloniki, the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia, the city of Thessaloniki, the Tourist Organization of Belgrade, in collaboration with Tourism Plus, the Mediterranean Palace Hotel and Air Serbia, the national carrier of Serbia, organized a presentation/promotion of the City of Belgrade on the market of Thessaloniki and the region, with the aim of increasing tourist arrivals and stays in the Serbian capital.

The event was attended by the Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in Thessaloniki, Mr. Sinisa Pavic and the Consul Ms. Sasa Todorovic- Kolundzija, by the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Mr. Yiannis Boutari, the Councilor Appointed for Tourism and International Relations of the Municipality of Thessaloniki Mr. Spiros Pegas, the Regional Manager Eastbound sales of Air Serbia, Ms. Marijana Miladinovic, executives from Intermodal Air, General Sales Agent for Air Serbia in Greece, numerous delegation from travel agencies and hotels from Serbia, as well as many guests from the tourism industry of Thessaloniki.

The opening ceremony included speeches by the Consul General, the Mayor, and presentations of the city of Belgrade and Air Serbia, which connects Thessaloniki with Belgrade daily flights for the summer season ( two daily flights in the period Jun-October) and with five flights a week throughout the winter.

The presentations were followed by meetings / contacts (B2B) between Serbian and Greek representatives of the tourism industry.

According to the Institute of Informatics and Statistics of Belgrade, the arrivals of Greek travelers in Belgrade, have increased by 14%, reaching 16.430 travelers for the first eight months of 2014.
